President Mirziyoyev Stresses Expanding Partnership with Brazil

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil Mauro Vieira on May 12, 2026. The high-level meeting reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to deepening political and economic cooperation.

President Mirziyoyev emphasized Uzbekistan’s interest in expanding its strategic partnership with Brazil — Latin America’s largest economy and a key player in global agriculture, industry, and energy markets.

Trade and Investment Priorities

The leaders discussed practical measures to increase bilateral trade turnover and create favorable conditions for mutual investment. Areas of mutual interest include:

  • Agricultural exports and food security
  • Industrial and technological cooperation
  • Transport and logistics infrastructure
  • Cultural and educational exchange

Joint Projects and Institutional Framework

Both sides reviewed prospects for launching joint projects in trade, investment, and innovation. Officials noted the potential to leverage Brazil’s export capacity alongside Uzbekistan’s growing industrial base and strategic location in Central Asia.

A proposal was discussed to establish an Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation, which would provide a structured platform for regular ministerial dialogue and project coordination.

Shared Vision

President Mirziyoyev and Minister Vieira expressed a shared vision of a stronger, more diversified partnership that benefits businesses and communities in both countries.
